Predictions made for the 2013 North Atlantic and  Eastern North Pacific Hurricane Seasons

For the 2013 tropical cyclone season in the Atlantic and eastern Pacific basins insight to what the season may bring did not emerge until mid-July.  I sensed it was going to be a below-average season for hurricane activity in the Atlantic basin back in June and during the latter half of July and into August started to get insight as to what the season will entail.  As activity heated up so did insight to what was to happen.  During the course of the season I kept notes on observations and insight and after the conclusion of the season, at the end of November, I put together a post-analysis of what insights were given and how they eventually played out.

Major events were preceeded by detailed insights.  One example pertains to the twin storms Ingrid and Manuel which pounded Mexico starting mid-September.  Click on the button below to see one of the main insights given.

Tropical Storm Raymond became a major hurricane on October 21, 2013.  It also was the only major hurricane for the season as I predicted it would be.
